Mass NOW Supports Protections for Pregnant Workers
Seventy-five percent of women in the workforce will become pregnant while working, yet they aren’t fully protected under state law. A bill filed by Sen. Joan Lovely and Rep. David Rogers would ensure that pregnant workers are treated fairly on the job by allowing for reasonable accommodations including breaks, time off to recover from childbirth, and private non-bathroom space for pumping. Over 120 state legislators have co-signed the bill. See if your elected officials support pregnant workers here. You can find out who your local legislators are at wheredoivotema.com.
If they have co-signed the bill: Great! Call your State Rep and State Senator and thank them for their support.
If they haven’t: Call your elected officials and ask them to support SB1023 - An Act establishing the Massachusetts pregnant workers fairness act.
