2025 Menstrual Equity Summit
We were joined by more than a hundred menstrual equity activists at Suffolk University for the 2025 Menstrual Equity Summit, hosted in partnership with Our Bodies Ourselves Today. We were beyond thrilled to see so many of you in-person, spending your Saturday talking about periods! 🩸
The day kicked off with an inspiring resource fair featuring over a dozen organizations showcasing everything from innovative menstrual products to community-based initiatives, sex and pleasure resources, and more.
The energy only grew as Zenaida Peterson’s powerful slam poetry set the stage for Dr. Noelle Elizabeth Spencer’s keynote. Her speech, drawn from her groundbreaking research, gave us a fresh, transformative perspective on the menstrual equity movement.
Our panel, Periods Without Peril: Ensuring Safety and Equity in Menstrual Health, brought together thought leaders like Dr. Yvonne Gomez-Carrion, Dr. Shruthi Mahalingaiah, Louisa Corbett, Arion Long, and Mary Ellen Duggan.
Together, they explored critical issues like menstrual irregularities, access to menstrual products in schools, and the safety risks of using harmful products.
A big thank you to all of our speakers for their expertise and dedication!
The afternoon continued with two dynamic workshops. Menstruation Myth vs. Fact (led by Katherine Blasius and Bria Gasden) debunked common misconceptions, while Organizing Your Community for Menstrual Equity (with Prachi Patel, Daniela Minidis, and Nora Bent) provided practical tools for activism.
Thank you again for being part of this important day. Together, we’re driving change—one period at a time. 🩸
