Duane de Four, M.A. is an educator, media critic and activist specializing in gender violence prevention, bystander intervention, diversity and sexual health education. Duane currently works as a Project Manager for MIT’s Program for Violence Prevention and Response (VPR) and is also the creator of HowManly.com, a blog about masculinity in media and culture. In 2011, Duane was one of only six Subject Matter Experts selected to train Air Force Sexual Assault Response Coordinators (SARCs) to deliver a groundbreaking Bystander Intervention curriculum that will reach over 600,000 Air Force personnel serving around the world. Additionally, Duane works with numerous like-minded organizations such as the Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) program, the National Consortium for Academics and Sports (NCAS), Futures Without Violence, and the Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts (PPLM), to name a few.Dave is a civil rights attorney and progressive activist with a specific interest in ending both violence against women, and rape and domestic violence against all genders. Dave has spent a number of years volunteering for organizations working to prevent rape and domestic violence; he is a community awareness and prevention speaker with the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC) and clerk of the GLBTQ Domestic Violence Project. He helped organize the Boston chapter of the National Organization for Men Against Sexism in 2008-2010, a community group focused on critically examining masculinity. He currently works in community outreach and civil rights, and co-chairs the NextGen caucus for the National Lawyers Guild. He holds a J.D. from Northeastern University and a B.S. from Boston University.Gina Capra is the Coordinator for the Violence Prevention and Educational Outreach Program at Simmons College. Previously, she lived in Portland, Maine, where she worked as a Program Coordinator for the University of Southern Maine's Women's Resource Center, Multicultural Center and the Center for Sexualities and Gender Diversity. Following her roles at the University, she focused her efforts on working with survivors of domestic and dating violence through Family Crisis Services in Portland, Maine. In 2011, Gina moved to the Boston area, and began working for the Simmons College Office of Student Life, while serving as a Campus Leadership Fellow through Futures Without Violence, and becoming a trained Rape Crisis Counselor through the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center. She now works to bring her areas of expertise around violence prevention, education and awareness to the Simmons College community.
