Mass NOW PAC endorses Marty Walsh-Official Press Release

The Massachusetts Chapter of the National Organization for Women Political Action Committee (Mass NOW PAC) is pleased to announce its endorsement of Martin Walsh.  Representative Walsh is running in the election for the next Mayor of the City of Boston.Donna Denoncourt, Co-Chair of the Mass NOW PAC, says:  “We are proud to endorse Marty Walsh for Mayor of Boston.  Marty has a long history of advocating for issues that are at the core of what Mass NOW stands for, including marriage equality and economic equality for women and people of color. Mass NOW is confident Marty will be a strong leader on these and other crucial social justice issues when elected Mayor”.The Mass NOW PAC endorses candidates who are committed to NOW’s mission and priority issue areas, including reproductive freedom, racial justice, constitutional rights, economic justice, LGBTQ Rights, and ending violence against women.   In order to receive the support of the Mass NOW PAC, candidates must go through a rigorous endorsement process, including a multi-issue questionnaire and an interview with PAC members.The Mass NOW PAC works to ensure that women’s rights and other social justice issues are given a voice in the Boston City Council.  Prior to running for office, Walsh represented the 13th Suffolk District, which includes Dorchester and is one of the most diverse districts in the state.  In the State House, he established himself as a leader on creating jobs, advocating for civil rights, and improving public schools.  The Mass. NOW PAC looks forward to electing Martin Walsh as Mayor and working with him on equal rights and social justice issues.On receiving the Mass NOW PAC endorsement, Representative Walsh says: “I'm honored to receive the endorsement of Mass NOW.  I have a long track record of fighting for the same issues that Mass NOW advocates for in our communities.
