Tamora Israel, Emcee
Tamora Israel is an award-winning poet, multidisciplinary performer, and cultural organizer working at the intersection of art and activism. The Co-CEO of Ascending Phoenix Productions, a commanding presence both on and off the stage, her diverse portfolio spans live theatrical productions, musical events, and video productions throughout the region. Notable credits include a critically acclaimed portrayal of the Lady in Red in Ntozake Shange’s For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide / When the Rainbow Is Enuf. Israel is the creator of Poetry From My Brain Parts: A Journey from Beginning to Becoming. A groundbreaking multimedia experience integrating a self-published poetry book, audiobook, poetry videos, theater production, and interactive art exhibit to explore healing, resilience, self-discovery and transformation.
She founded Cape Cod’s 438 Open Mic and serves on the boards of The Cordial Eye and Provincetown Television. Recipient of the 2024 Black Excellence Award from the Massachusetts Black and Latino Legislative Caucus, Israel creates bold, healing work that transforms communities.

Sheril E. Smith is an academic leader and dedicated educator who serves as the Academic Director at Cape Cod PASS. Committed to student success, she focuses on building empowering environments that nurture the unique strengths of every learner.
Her leadership is driven by a deep faith, a commitment to community service, and a belief that education should equip individuals with the confidence to reach their full potential. Sheril resides on Cape Cod with her husband, Kenard, and is the proud mother of two adult children.
